Peninsula Park-View resort was recently remodeled to preserve the historical appeal of one of the first motels in the state, featuring a design brought from Arizona. Parking is near your door. Guests can relax on white wicker furniture on the open air walkway outside their room to enjoy a view of Park-view flowers and Peninsula State Park.

Repeat guests have said that, although the rooms are small because they were built in the 1950’s, they have everything they need and much more. Rooms are exceptionally clean, individually decorated and affordable with free high speed wireless internet, roku TV and a complimentary parking space.

There are two large windows for fresh air and cross ventilation so guests seldom need to use the air conditioner. There is also a ceiling fan to provide additional circulation.

The 10 rooms have 1 or 2 beds. Room rates are based on 2 people. Each additional person of any age is only $10 and includes all room and resort amenities. Room towels are provided and changed daily, but beach and pool towels are not. A travel green towel discount may be requested for a two or more night stay when calling to reserve the room or reserving the room on the website.

Two rooms and 1 suite are pet friendly. Rates for unregistered people of any age or for each dog in a pet friendly room double after arrival.

Room amenities include elegant triple sheeting for exceptional cleanliness. There is an under-the-counter sized refrigerator and a microwave. If needed, a coffee pot for the room may be checked out. Coffee for this pot can be purchased in the lobby or at Blue Horse Cafe.

Floors are laminated or carpeted. Linens are provided and beds are made. There is a private bathroom with a shower and includes personal soaps and a hair dryer.

One of the reasons guests return year after year is because Park-View rooms are not only exceptionally cleaned, they are disinfected using commercial steamers that eliminate covid and insects. There is no second floor, no halls, no central HVAC to spread covid, and staff take time to help you enjoy your vacation. For the health and safety of guests and staff, there is no daily housekeeping so the cleaning specialists cannot bring covid from room to room.

There is a lovely gathering room with games and ping pong, a large stone fireplace and TV and a kitchen area (no stove, but a charcoal grill). There is a large outdoor heated pool in season, a fire pit, lawn furniture, complimentary coffee and kringle from 8:00 to 10:00, complimentary bicycles and beautiful flowers–some are gifts from former guests.

Teachers, repeat guests and seniors over 55 may request a discount.  Guests are offered discounts at the Blue Horse Beach Cafe, the Old Post Office, and on items from “A Door County Picnic” shop.
