BEST DOOR
COUNTY LOCATION: Peninsula Park-View is only two and a half miles
from downtown Fish Creek
and one mile from downtown Ephraim. It is
across from
Highland Road, the bicycle, skiing, snowmobiling, and hiking road into
Peninsula State Park and it is the closest motel to the golf course entrance
to the park -- less than a half mile. It is
centrally located: about 7 miles
from Sister Bay, 7 miles from Baileys Harbor and 7 miles from Egg
Harbor. It is halfway between
Sturgeon Bay and the tip of the Door Peninsula.
Besides easy access to all of the villages, the many state,
county and village parks and beaches can be accessed without village
traffic hassles. Our guests tell us there are no late night village noises to keep people awake. Peninsula Park-View is across from the best
entrance to to State Park--the quiet entrance that runs along the back
side of the golf course. It is a short walk to the outdoor movie theater,
and about a mile and a half from the YMCA, the new medical clinic, Peninsula Art
School, and Door Community Auditorium. |

Description:
Peninsula Park-View offers a choice of over 30 bicycles, including very nice 21 speed mountain bikes, an adult tandom bicycle, and a pull behind for smaller children. Bicycles are free for your use. Guests can simply cross the road and enjoy the 4,000 acre park, entering on Highland Road which is near many hiking trails that provide hours of fun and relaxation. In the winter, Highland Road provides access to cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and snowmobiling and is near the warming house by the golf course. Peninsula Park-View is only a
wood and a nine iron from the
parks' championship 18 hole golf course. It
is also the closest motel to the beach, the climbing tower,
American Folklore Theater, the boat launch, boat rentals and closest to
most campsites in the park. The view of the park woods is lovely
year
round. It is a short drive to many different water views,
including Eagle Tower and Sven's Bluff. |

After
golfing or biking to Fish Creek to enjoy guest specials at
the popular Blue Horse bistro and espresso, guests often play games,
watch the large screen TV, sit by the fire in the large gathering lodge or
lounge by the pool in June, July or August. The pool is one
of
the largest outdoor heated pools in Northern Door County.
Sometimes
guests grill out using one of the two charcoal grills. While
enjoying the resort,
guests may have their film processed, save their camera cards to CD and
receive special guest rates on processing. Guests can sign
up for digital and computer classes or for a portrait or reunion
package. |

One of the best computer experts in Northern
Door
County works out of Peninsula Photo Imaging, located on site. Therefore,
guests can enjoy fast
internet access in the lobby and in each of the rooms, suites and cottages. Each room has unique decor and guests often
request a favorite unit. Some call it their "home away from home"
and have been returning for over 15 years and tell us how much
they enjoy our upgrades and improvements. Many guests tell us we are the highlight of their stay in Door County. Last week I received a
note from a guest who sadly would not be able to make it this year
because her husband is ill. They have not missed a year in 35
years! |
